Impact Files

This is the tenth step of the onboarding wizard. Here you upload your state impact files for the two school years before your current one. TKG Analytics uses them to pull in your readiness standards, which carry graduation, acceleration, and college and career readiness.

Files to upload

You will see a heading for each school year we collect, and under each one the same two files, each as an Excel (.xlsx) file:

Upload Recommended name
District Impact district_impact.xlsx
School Impacts school_impacts.xlsx

If your current school year is 2026-2027, you will upload a pair for 2024-2025 and a pair for 2025-2026. When both years are uploaded, click Next to continue.

Why two years

The readiness standards in each file belong to that file's year. We roll the older year's standards forward to score the year we report on, and forward again to your current year, so the older year has to be a real file.

If the state has not released the newest year

The newest year is often not published when a district onboards. If it is not out yet, tick MDE has not released the 2025 - 2026 accountability results yet on that year and you can submit without it. We roll the older year's standards forward in the meantime, so your impacts still carry graduation, acceleration, and college and career readiness. Those figures are last year's rates until the real file arrives.

Ticking it closes that year's upload boxes, so nothing can go into a year you have just told us is not out; untick it and they open again. It records who marked it and when, and you still owe us both files. Once the state publishes them, upload them and open a Helpdesk Ticket so we can run the import; unlike SLAIF files, these are not picked up overnight.

The older year cannot be marked this way. It is what everything else rolls forward from, so it has to be a real file.

These names are recommended, not required

The file names above are just our recommended names. They are not required for onboarding. Upload the correct file into each slot in Excel (.xlsx) format, and TKG Analytics stores it under the right name for you.

Finish District Information first

You can only upload files once the District Information step is complete.

Where to find these files

These are your state accountability impact files, the same district and school impact files your district receives from the state each year. If you are not sure where to find them, open a Helpdesk Ticket and we will help.

Not sure something is right?

If anything on this step does not look right, open a Helpdesk Ticket and we will help before you continue.
