Score Information
This is the fifth step of the onboarding wizard. It tells TKG Analytics how your scores should be calculated and how your schools and courses map to tested subjects.
Import your current schools first
This step needs your schools, which come from the Current SIS Files step. If you see a prompt to import schools, finish that step first and come back.
Benchmark information
- Assessment Vendor the vendor that provides your benchmark assessments: Mastery Connect or ELS.
- Calculation Type how your cut scores are determined:
- Vendor Defined use the score ranges your assessment vendor provides.
- District Defined use custom cut scores your district sets.
- K–1 District Defined use custom cut scores for K–1.
Calculation type changes the next step
If you choose Vendor Defined, the Benchmark Ranges step is skipped because the vendor supplies the ranges. If you choose District Defined or K–1 District Defined, you will set your cut scores in the Benchmark Ranges step.
For the assessment types your district can define, see Assessment Types and Per-Year Limits. Note that district assessments must use custom cut scores, set before import.
School information
Select any schools with semester (4x4) classes. These are schools that run courses on a semester (4x4) block schedule. Marking them here ensures their end-of-course scores are imported correctly, including the extra fall semester score file later in onboarding.
Feeder patterns
This section appears only if your district has feeder schools — schools where students take end-of-course (EOC) classes whose scores are banked to a different school. For each feeder school, select the school its scores should bank to.
If your district has a school that teaches grade 10, every feeder school needs an answer before you can move on from this step.
If you re-upload your schools file and a school's grades change so that it gains or drops grade 10, or becomes or stops being a feeder school, we send you back to this step. The step names the schools whose grades changed so you can review your answers and submit again.
See Banked Patterns for a fuller explanation of how feeder and banked schools work.
Feeder courses
Feeder courses are locally-taught classes that prepare students for MAAP-tested subjects. Select your feeder courses for English, Math, and Science so students in those classes are given the appropriate MAAP benchmark.
See Feeder Subject Assignments for more on how feeder courses map to subjects.
MAAP courses
Your district's MAAP course codes decide which students are expected to take each MAAP assessment. The step lists them by subject with their course titles. History is not shown while it is not part of the accountability model. You cannot edit them here; changes are handled by our team.
The step also calls out any additional codes we map for your district (often placeholder courses), any code that is also one of your feeder courses (including a standard MAAP course on your feeder list), and any standard MAAP course your district does not carry. Compacted math courses your district does not carry are listed separately, because they are only needed if you teach compacted math. When you select schools with semester (4x4) classes above, it names them and asks you to double check your fall placeholder courses. If you ticked We do not teach Algebra I in 8th grade above, the compacted math courses on your list are shown grayed out.
Before you can save, choose one of two statements:
- These MAAP courses are correct for our district.
- We need a MAAP or placeholder course added or changed, and have opened a helpdesk ticket.
Choosing the second shows a button to open a Helpdesk Ticket. See MAAP Subject Assignment for what placeholder courses are.
When everything is set, click Save & Continue.
The rest of the wizard opens after this step
The steps after this one stay hidden until you save Score Information. What you choose here decides which files we ask you for, so we cannot show you the right upload slots until you have answered. Once you save, the remaining steps appear in the sidebar.
Algebra I in 8th grade
A student who takes Algebra I in 8th grade carries that score forward into their 10th grade results. To count it we need the roster and score files for the year they took it, which is the oldest year we ask about.
If no student in your district takes Algebra I in 8th grade, tick We do not teach Algebra I in 8th grade. That removes two steps from your onboarding: the oldest Historical SIS Files year and the oldest Score Files year. You can untick it later and those steps come back.
Only tick it if it is true. If any student does take Algebra I in 8th grade, their score will be missing from their 10th grade results.
Not sure something is right?
If anything on this step does not look right, open a Helpdesk Ticket and we will help before you continue.
