Review Teacher Users

This is the eighth step of the school year rollover, and usually the shortest. Most districts will find nothing to do here.

Why there is so little to review

Teacher accounts are governed by your nightly SIS sync and are reconciled when you submit this rollover. Teachers who have left, teachers who have arrived, and teachers who have changed schools are all handled for you, so there is nothing to revoke on this step.

For where teacher accounts come from in the first place, see Teacher Users.

The one thing the sync never touches

A teacher account can be granted access to more than one teacher's data. The SIS sync never reconciles those extra grants, so they are the one thing that goes stale.

If any teacher account has extra grants, the step lists them. Untick any teacher that account should no longer see, then update. The account's own teacher is always kept and cannot be removed here, because the sync re-establishes it every night regardless.

If no teacher account has extra grants, the step says so and there is nothing to do. Continue.

Removing an extra grant does not take the account off the sync

Unlike the school-user step, trimming extra teacher grants leaves that account on the nightly SIS sync. Only the extra grants are yours to manage; everything else about a teacher account stays automatic.

Not sure something is right?

If a teacher who should have access is missing entirely, that is a question about your SIS export rather than this step. Open a Helpdesk Ticket.
