Review District Admins
This is the fifth step of the school year rollover, and the first of four that review who still has access. Here you check your district admins, who have access to all district-wide data and settings.
What this step asks for
The step lists your active district admins. For each, you can:
- Deactivate them, if they have left the district. They lose access to TKG Analytics entirely.
- Step them down to a District User, if they are staying on but should no longer have admin rights.
Anyone you take no action on stays as they are.
Your point of contact and superintendent are protected here and cannot be deactivated or stepped down from this step. They are managed on Confirm Contacts, because changing them changes who can finish the rollover.
Deactivating versus stepping down
The two are not interchangeable, and the difference matters:
| Use when | Result | |
|---|---|---|
| Deactivate | The person has left the district | No access to TKG Analytics at all |
| Step down to a District User | The person is staying but should not administer | Keeps district-wide access, loses admin controls |
Deactivating is deliberately sticky: the nightly SIS sync will not silently bring that person back the next time it runs.
Adding someone new
New district admins are not added on this step. Use the Invite a district admin link, and they become a district admin once they accept the invitation. A district can have at most 5 active district admins, and your two named contacts count toward that limit.
Deactivating someone does not tell them
No wizard step sends email, so anyone you deactivate or step down here finds out by losing access. Tell them yourself if that matters.
Not sure something is right?
If someone is listed who should not be, or is missing who should be there, open a Helpdesk Ticket.
