Resume Nightly Sync
This is the ninth step of the school year rollover. Here you tell us whether your nightly student information system sync should start again once the new year goes live.
Why your sync is paused
Your nightly SIS sync pauses over the summer, and it stays paused for as long as this rollover is under review. That is what stops half-rolled-over data arriving while you are still confirming your calendar, configuration, schools, and roster.
It does not restart on its own when you finish the wizard. It restarts, or does not, according to the answer you give on this step, and only once the rollover has been approved.
What this step asks for
One question, with two answers:
- Yes, resume our nightly sync. Your data for the new year is ready. Once the rollover is approved, the sync starts running again and new-year students, teachers, and enrollments flow in automatically.
- Not yet, leave our nightly sync off. Nothing syncs after the new year goes live, and it will not start on its own. When your data is ready you must open a Helpdesk Ticket and we will turn it back on for you.
Choosing 'not yet' means nothing turns it back on but us
There is no scheduled retry and no reminder. If you leave the sync off, your district's data stays exactly as it is until you ask us to resume it. Choose this only if you know your new-year SIS data is not ready, and open a ticket as soon as it is.
Your answer stays inert until approval
Recording the answer here does not resume anything immediately, even if you pick Yes. The sync stays paused while the rollover is under review and only acts on your answer once an Admin approves. You can come back and change it any time before you submit.
Not sure whether your data is ready?
Open a Helpdesk Ticket and we will look at what has arrived from your SIS export before you answer.
