Delete Readiness Metric Sources

Overview

The Delete Readiness Metric Sources feature allows authorized users to remove incorrect or outdated readiness data that was entered in error. When a readiness metric source is deleted, TKG Analytics automatically recalculates the student’s readiness metric to ensure scores and accountability projections remain accurate.

This feature is intended to support data correction and cleanup while maintaining alignment with Mississippi Department of Education accountability rules.

Who Can Delete Readiness Metric Sources

Only the following user roles are permitted to delete readiness metric sources:

  • Admins
  • District Admins

School-level users do not have permission to delete readiness metric sources.

When You Should Delete a Readiness Metric Source

You may need to delete a readiness metric source if:

  • An incorrect test score was entered
  • The wrong assessment type was selected
  • The source was attached to the wrong student
  • A duplicate source was created
  • A file upload included incorrect student data
  • A diploma or credential was uploaded in error

The student and the assessment type on an existing source cannot be changed. Editing a source corrects the composite score only. To move a score to the correct student, or to correct the assessment type, delete the source and add a new one.

Deleting the source removes only the selected entry and does not delete the student or other readiness data.

What Happens After Deletion

When a readiness metric source is deleted:

  • The source record is removed from the system
  • The student’s readiness metric is automatically recalculated
  • Accountability projections update to reflect the change
  • No additional action is required by the user

This ensures readiness metrics always reflect the most accurate and current data available.

Important Notes

  • Deleted readiness metric sources cannot be recovered
  • Deleting a source affects only the selected assessment or diploma entry
  • The system recalculates readiness metrics immediately after deletion
  • If multiple sources exist, only the deleted source is removed
